Scholarships
We understand that not everyone can afford program fees. Therefore, we have set up a scholarship system for those who need assistance. If you are eligible for a scholarship, you will only have to pay a percentage of the program fee.
Scholarships must be updated and renewed each year.
How do I apply?
To be eligible for a scholarship you must be a current member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue and meet the family size/income requirements set by our organization.
Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis and a limited number of scholarships will be available.
Scholarship Packets Must Contain All Required Documents To Be Reviewed
What documents do I provide?
Completed Scholarship Application AND;
The following required documents must be provided for each financially responsible guardian.
- Most recent tax season’s 1040 tax form
- Two most recent paystubs

Please submit your completed scholarship packets to the Downtown Club or by email to: admin@bgcbellevue.org or fax: (425) 637-6509
When paystubs or 1040’s are not an option, please contact the Club for possible alternative documents. This documentation may include:
• Annual Wage Statement | • Social Security Award Letter | • Unemployment |
• Employer Severance Letter | • Child Support Award Letter | • TANF |
Employee Wage Data Statements can be obtained online through the Employment Security Department. Once you create an account and log in, click on the hyperlink that says, “Look up your past wages”. You can print the document, or save it by clicking “Print” and changing the Destination or Printer to “Save as PDF”.
A scholarship packet alone does not register the participant, nor does it reserve space in a program. You will be notified once your packet for scholarship has been reviewed which on average is a three day process with a complete packet.
If your packet is not complete you may start a program with a minimum 10% payment, pending approval at which time you will be required to pay any difference in percentage awarded. You must provide all needed documents within two weeks or the 10% will be removed, your account will be no longer be considered as scholarship, and you will be required to pay the full tuition.
What if my documentation does not reflect my current financial situation?
We understand that income can change. Any documentation to show the circumstances of your change, may be taken under consideration (court orders, child support modifications, loss of job, etc…). Please note that scholarships are for low income individuals. Changes in debt to income ratio will not be a determining factor in eligibility.
Temporary scholarships can be awarded for change of working situation/pay based on qualifiction and with documentation.
How to register with a scholarship:
Please submit all scholarship documentation prior to registering for a program. You will not know if your family qualifies for a scholarship or what the rate will be until your packet is processed which on average is a three day turn around time.
If you have a current scholarship and want to register for an athletic program or a program where the fee is already due, you will need to register over the phone. The payment is due at the time of registration and must be manually adjusted.
If you are registering for a program before the fee is due, you must register using the "pay in person" option (NOT pay in full or auto pay). Please notify the Downtown Club to adjust your fees once registration is complete.
Is there anything a scholarship does not cover?
Each child participating in a Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue program will need a current membership for $27.00 per year. Memberships are current for 1 year from your purchase date. Membership fees, preschool materials fees, school out day field trip fees, late pick up fees are charges where the scholarship rate is not applied.
What can I do if I have a foster child or a child in kinship care and grandfamilies ?
If you have custody of a foster child, a child in kinship care or grandfamilies please contact the Club before any registration process is started. Staff will be able to let you know of any financial assistance the Club may be able to give.

Parent Quote:
"I just wanted to let you know that my children attend the Project Learn program at the South Bellevue Community Center, and I couldn’t be happier with the program.
Every time I pick up my children they are smiling and having a great time. The staff are fun, engaging and very professional. I can’t say enough for their efforts.
My son just started Kindergarten this year, and my daughter is in 4th grade, and your staff are absolutely wonderful about making them both feel comfortable. They tell me all about the fun activities they do every day.
As a former employee of the Bellevue School District as a teacher in the afterschool program I know the challenges they face every day, and I want to commend your organization and staff for an absolutely wonderful program.
Thank you so much for your invaluable services. I wouldn’t feel comfortable at work without your help and support."
