Scholarships

We understand that not everyone can afford program fees. Therefore, we have set up a scholarship system for those who need assistance. If approved, your Scholarship can cover anywhere from 40% - 90% of our program fees.

Scholarships must be renewed each year.

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must be a current member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue and meet the family size/income requirements set by our organization. Please note, our household income requirements are proprietary and cannot be shared externally.

A scholarship application alone does not register the participant, nor does it reserve space in a program. You will be notified once your scholarship has been reviewed. Please allow 10 business days for the scholarship process to be completed.

How do I apply?

Please download our Scholarship Application below, and review the first page Checklist for required forms.

*Scholarships Will Not Be Reviewed Until All Required Documents Are Provided. We Will Not Collect Documents Individually*

What documents do I provide?

  • Completed Application WITH the following required documents for each financially responsible guardian listed on the application.
    • Most recent tax season’s 1040 tax form
    • Two most recent paystubs
  • When paystubs or 1040s are not an option, please contact the Club for possible alternative documents. This documentation may include:
    • Annual Wage Statement
    • Child Support Award Letter
    • Employer Severance Letter
    • Social Security Award Letter
    • TANF Letter
    • Unemployment Documents

Employee Wage Data Statements can be obtained online through the Employment Security Department. Once you create an account and log in, click on the hyperlink that says, “Look up your past wages”. You can print the document, or save it by clicking “Print” and changing the Destination or Printer to “Save as PDF”.

Please submit your completed scholarship applications by email to: scholarship@bgcbellevue.org

What if my documentation does not reflect my current financial situation?

We understand that income can change. Any documentation to show the circumstances of your change may be taken under consideration (court orders, child support modifications, loss of job, etc…). Please note that scholarships are for low income individuals. Changes in debt-to-income ratio will not be a determining factor in eligibility.

How to register with a scholarship:

Please submit all scholarship documentation prior to registering for a program. You will not know if your family qualifies for a scholarship or what the rate will be until your application is processed which on average is a ten business day turn around time.

Once your scholarship is awarded, the assistance level will be assigned to the member and will automatically adjust when doing your online registration for any program the scholarship applies to.

Is there anything a scholarship does not cover?

Each child participating in a Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue program will need a current membership. Memberships are current for 1 year from your purchase date. Membership fees, materials fees, field trip fees, and late pick up fees are charges where the scholarship rate is not applied.

What can I do if I have a foster child or a child in kinship care and grandfamilies ?

If you have custody of a foster child, a child in kinship care or grandfamilies please contact the Club before any registration process is started.  Staff will be able to let you know of any financial assistance the Club may be able to give.

Parent Quote:

"I just wanted to let you know that my children attend the Project Learn program at the South Bellevue Community Center, and I couldn’t be happier with the program.

Every time I pick up my children they are smiling and having a great time. The staff are fun, engaging and very professional. I can’t say enough for their efforts.

My son just started Kindergarten this year, and my daughter is in 4th grade, and your staff are absolutely wonderful about making them both feel comfortable. They tell me all about the fun activities they do every day.

As a former employee of the Bellevue School District as a teacher in the afterschool program I know the challenges they face every day, and I want to commend your organization and staff for an absolutely wonderful program.

Thank you so much for your invaluable services. I wouldn’t feel comfortable at work without your help and support."
