We understand that not everyone can afford program fees. Therefore, we have set up a scholarship system for those who need assistance. If you are eligible for a scholarship, you will only have to pay a percentage of the program fee.
Scholarships must be updated before the tax deadline (April) and must be renewed each year.
How do I apply?
To be eligible for a scholarship you must be a current member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue and meet the family size/income requirements set by our organization.
To apply you will need to submit a completed Scholarship Application with a copy of your most recent 1040 tax form AND copies of two recent paystubs for each guardian earning income.
Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis and a limited number of scholarships will be available.
A scholarship application alone does not register the participant, nor does it reserve space in a program. You will be notified once your application for scholarship has been received and processed. If your scholarship is approved, you can then go on to register for programs.
Please submit your scholarship applications to the Main Club or by email to: email@example.com or fax: (425) 637-6509
What documents do I provide?
Required documents include each financially responsible guardian’s most recent tax season’s 1040 tax form AND two most recent paystubs. When paystubs or 1040’s are not an option, we may ask that Alternative Income Verification be provided. This documentation may include:
|• Annual Wage Statement||• Social Security Award Letter||• Unemployment|
|• Employer Severance Letter||• Child Support Award Letter||• TANF|
Employee Wage Data Statements can be obtained online through the Employment Security Department. Once you create an account and log in, click on the hyperlink that says, “Look up your past wages”. You can print the document, or save it by clicking “Print” and changing the Destination or Printer to “Save as PDF”. You can also request this document via phone by calling (844) 766-8930 or by completing and submitting the ESD Records Request form. This document will serve as verification of both employment and unemployment, as there are no wages to report during times of unemployment.
Tax Transcripts from the IRS may be requested if the Employee Wages Data Statement does not yet have the most recent quarter reported. The Wage and Income Transcript as well as a Verification of Non-filing Letter may be: requested over the phone by calling (800) 908-9946; obtained online through the IRS Website; or by completing and submitting Form 4506-T.
Social Security Benefit Verification Letters will be required if a guardian is retired and collects social security benefits, or is unable to work and collects disability. You can obtain a copy by creating an account through the SSA Website. You can also call and request this documentation over the phone at (800) 325-0778.
What if my documentation does not reflect my current financial situation?
We understand that income can change. Any documentation to show the circumstances of your change, may be taken under consideration (court orders, child support modifications, etc…). Please note that scholarships are for low income individuals. Changes in debt to income ratio will not be a determining factor in eligibility.
How to register with a scholarship:
Please submit all scholarship documentation prior to registering for a program. You will not know if your family qualifies for a scholarship or what the rate will be until your application is processed.
If you have a current scholarship and want to register for an athletic program or a program where the fee is already due, you will need to register over the phone or in person. The payment is due at the time of registration and must be manually adjusted.
If you are registering for a program before the fee is due, you can register using the "pay in person" option (NOT pay in full or auto pay). Please notify the Main Club to adjust your fees.
Is there anything a scholarship does not cover?
Each child participating in a Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue program will need a current membership for $27.00 per year. Memberships are current for 1 year from your purchase date. These is the only cost where the scholarship rate is not applied.
For summer camp programs, we offer up to 4 weeks per child at a scholarship rate. If a child registers for more than 4 weeks, the additional weeks will be listed at the full price.
Wednesday Only Project Learn registrations are not covered by scholarships.
School's Out Day field trip fees and late pick up fees are not coverd by scholarships.

"I just wanted to let you know that my children attend the Project Learn program at the South Bellevue Community Center, and I couldn’t be happier with the program.
Every time I pick up my children they are smiling and having a great time. The staff are fun, engaging and very professional. I can’t say enough for their efforts.
My son just started Kindergarten this year, and my daughter is in 4th grade, and your staff are absolutely wonderful about making them both feel comfortable. They tell me all about the fun activities they do every day.
As a former employee of the Bellevue School District as a teacher in the afterschool program I know the challenges they face every day, and I want to commend your organization and staff for an absolutely wonderful program.
Thank you so much for your invaluable services. I wouldn’t feel comfortable at work without your help and support."
